Missing Carlsbad Teen Found Safe in Temecula

At-risk juvenile Christine Jelinek had been missing since Jan. 4.

On Jan. 25 at 10:34 a.m., the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department notified the that missing at-risk juvenile Christine Jelinek was found. 

According to Carlsbad Police Detective Sergeant Steve Thomas, “A Good Samaritan noticed Christine walking down a street in Temecula and recognized her from the circulated missing person’s information.  The Samaritan immediately notified the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.”

Thomas further elaborated, “Christine was walking down the road with others to a location where she could get breakfast.”  Christine was .  Christine was found to be in good health and is in the process of being reunited with her family.

The investigation has determined that the was not found to be related to the incident and is no longer sought by Carlsbad Police.  The Carlsbad Police Department would like thank all those who helped circulate Christine’s information, leading to her safe return.
