Thank You Community & Alumni For Supporting La Costa Canyon High School's ArTURN!

ArTURN, La Costa Canyon High School's arts and performance fair connects past and present student talent.

La Costa Canyon High School (LCC) hosted its' second annual ArTURN, an Arts, Crafts and Performance Fair showcasing the school’s visual and performing arts department.

The event, held last Saturday at the school, was a celebration of art, dance and music that included the talents of LCC students, faculty, and parents, as well as alumni who are now working in the field they love.

LCC 2001 graduates, now LA based actors/producers, Adam Chambers and Sean Muramatsu served as the event's emcees as well as played a large role with promoting the event. Last month they visited their alma mater, guiding, filming, and interviewing LCC film and broadcast students for the creation of promotional ArTURN video clips. The clips, edited by the students, are posted on the LCC ArTURN Facebook page. www.facebook.com/lccarturn

Other ArTURN supporting alumni included LCC 2007 graduate Russell Castiglione who performed with his indie rock band, Lucid Living, and fellow LCC graduate Dillon Casey, a local musician who performs with different jazz groups around town, most notably the In Motion Trio Collective which was awarded the Best Jazz Award at the 2011 San Diego Music Awards.

Cubbie Fink, Bassist for Grammy nominated band, Foster the People and a 2001 LCC graduate, donated one-of-the kind FTP items for the event's raffle drawing while LCC alumni and sculptor Jacob Lenc was among the artisan vendors. LCC alumni and Carlsbad Patch Editor Deanne Goodman also made an appearance.

North County businesses: Carlsbad Magazine, Coast News, Fine Tune Academy and Rhino Art provided event sponsorship support.

LCC ArTURN parent volunteers are already looking forward to planning ArTURN 2014 and hope to have even more LCC alumni and local business involvement.
