Carlsbad High School’s broadcast program and ’s VMSTV broadcast program won acclaimed Awards of Excellence at the Student Television Network Convention in Dallas over the weekend.
According to Advisor Doug Green, who shepherds both programs, “The coveted Award of Excellence is given once a year to the top middle school and top high school broadcast journalism programs in the nation. This marks Valley's second consecutive win and Carlsbad High’s fifth consecutive win. Both wins preserve our number one ranking in the USA.”
VMSTV won for Best Overall Middle School Broadcast. CHSTV won for Best Daily Live Scholastic Broadcast. VMSTV also won the Best Middle School Film award.
Overall, broadcast programs placed in 17 contests. Among these were , which captured first in the highly competitive middle school Music Video category.
