Nancy Myers gets Rotary award

OCEANSIDE – Nancy Myers, the manager of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Tri-City Medical Center, was presented the Vocational Services Award by the Oceanside Rotary Club on Jan. 20 for her tireless efforts nourishing and supporting babies, their parents and her staff.

A nurse for 34 years, Nancy has been working at Tri-City for five years, first as a nurse educator in the NICU and later becoming its manager. She also works with area EMTs and paramedics to educate them on caring for babies.

The award was presented by John McMahan, president
of the Oceanside Rotary Club, and Lola Sherman, who chairs the club’s vocational services committee. Tri-City operates the only Level 3B NICU in North County and cares for an average of 16 babies at any given time.
