Health Technician Kimberly Wilson has been named ’s May 2012 Classified Employee of the Month. Wilson was honored at the May 9, 2012 Board of Trustees meeting.
Principal Robert Devich, who nominated her, heralds Wilson’s work ethic, saying, “Nurse Kim is impeccable, highly skilled and an integral part of the Pacific Rim community. Countless parents have come to me to share their appreciation for Kim’s demeanor and her policy to inform parents of incidents.”
As Health Tech for CUSD’s largest elementary school, Wilson typically sees about 40 students a day. She explains, “I respond to illnesses and injuries, provide medications, including insulin for our students with diabetes, and handle parent contacts. I also coordinate staff CPR/First Aid training,” she notes, saying that most of the staff are trained in this area as well as in epi pen protocol for food allergies.
“My job is very rewarding,” Wilson confirms. “I like being busy. I enjoy the people with whom I work. And I love the kids; they always make me laugh.”
Classified employees of the month are nominated by District administrators for consistently performing above and beyond in the scope of their jobs.
