Run for Your School at the Kids Marathon Mile at LEGOLAND
Fun Run is Held During the Tri-City Medical Center Carlsbad Marathon Weekend
School enthusiasts are invited to "Run for Your School" at the Kids Marathon Mile at LEGOLAND® California on Saturday, Jan.26, 2013, announced In Motion, Inc., the event organizer. The Kids Marathon at LEGOLAND is a non-competitive, one-mile run/walk that loops through the family theme park. The age-staged races will start at 8 a.m.
The Kids Marathon Mile’s Run for Your School program is a fun incentive for school groups and individuals to benefit their school while participating in the Kids Marathon Mile at LEGOLAND. If there are at least 10 entries from a school, the entrants from that school automatically become members of a school team and the school will receive $2 for each paid entry. More than 100 school teams from San Diego and Orange counties participated in the program in 2012.
Although LEGOLAND is geared for children ages 12 and younger, the Kids Marathon Mile is open to people of all ages. “It is a perfect opportunity for moms, dads, siblings and friends to participate in this fun, healthy activity,” said Christine Adams, chief executive officer of In Motion, Inc.
Every registered child in the Kids Marathon Mile at LEGOLAND is a winner and will receive a shiny finisher’s medal, colorful T-shirt, and a free one-day SEA LIFE® Hopper ticket which includes admission to LEGOLAND® California and SEA LIFE® Aquarium, a $81 value (valid Saturday, 1/26/2013 or Sunday, 1/27/2013 for children age 3 to 12) in addition to one free UltraStar Cinemas child’s admission movie pass and popcorn, and a goodie bag full of treats and coupons.
Held during the Tri-City Medical Center Carlsbad Marathon & Half Marathon race weekend, the Kids Marathon Mile at LEGOLAND also features a Diaper Dash for babies who still travel on all fours and a free family expo with entertainment and fun activities. The Tri-City Medical Center Carlsbad Marathon & Half Marathon are scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013.
Race weekend sponsors include: Tri-City Medical Center, LEGOLAND California Resort, Hilton Carlsbad Oceanfront Resort & Spa, Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach, Ultima Replenisher, NRG, Visit Carlsbad, Road Runner Sports, UltraStar Cinemas, Zoot Sports and KYXY 96.5 FM.
The registration fee for the Kids Marathon Mile is $20 per entry prior to race day and $25 on event day. Event-day registration starts at 7 a.m. Adults have the option of registering at full price and receiving an event T-shirt or registering as a companion. To ensure the best participant experience, the event size is limited. Registration may close at any time and may not be available on event day.
