Copper Blue Creative of Carlsbad Wins Two American Marketer of the Year (AMY) Awards from the AMA

CARLSBAD, CA — At the recent American Marketing Association’s annual AMY awards banquet at the W San Diego Hotel, the W stood for winners for Carlsbad-based advertising and marketing agency, Copper Blue Creative.

 

According to Copper Blue’s founder and Creative Director, Brian Haffeman, the agency team was thrilled to take home two of the seven awards presented during the evening. “We were very honored to win the two trophies for our creative, especially since we were up against much larger and more established agencies,” Haffeman said. 

 

Each year, the San Diego chapter of the AMA presents the AMY Awards to recognize agencies for outstanding work in seven categories: Advertising, Brand Marketing, Integrated Marketing, Interactive/Digital, Social/Viral Marketing, Video/Film/Commercial and the Best in Show – The American Marketer of the Year.

 

Copper Blue Creative won the Advertising category for its “Golf is its own Reward” campaign for the Maderas Golf Club, located in Poway. The agency also garnered the Digital Marketing award for a fun and innovative, interactive microsite (askthepieguy.com) for Coco's Bakery Restaurants. The microsite was built by Nimbletoad, Copper Blue’s web development division.

 

“We’re fortunate to have clients like Coco’s Bakery Restaurants and Maderas who trust us to create forward-thinking creative for their marketing needs,” Haffeman added. “It was also great to share the evening with longtime friends and fellow creatives, and meet new marketeers in an industry we all love.”

 

The award for best Integrated Marketing that incorporated a multi-channel strategy and execution went to Nuffer, Smith, Tucker Public Relations for their SEMA Cares WD-40 campaign. Other winners included: Geary LSF for best Social Media Campaign for their WD-40 Facebook sweepstakes campaign; Rescue Social Change Group won the Video/Film/Commercial category for an anti-tobacco campaign; Agency i.d.e.a won the Brand Marketing category for their introduction of the DIVE Day Club at Harrah’s Resort Southern California.

The American Marketer of the Year (AMY) Best in Show award this year was a tie. The judges gave the nod to Agency i.d.e.a for the DIVE Day Club at Harrah’s Resort Southern California, in a dead heat with Geary LSF for their WD-40 social media campaign.
