Happy Hour Politics Event on March 19th to Discuss Common Core

On Wednesday, March 19th, Happy Hour Politics will have another amazing event that inspires thought-provoking conversation and lots of mingling.  The keynote speaker is Darcy Brandon who will discuss Common Core.   Darcy says she plans a lively informative talk:  “To try to keep it as balanced as possible.  I will be providing the background to Common Core implementation, how it came to fruition, and the consequences of CCSS.  I'll provide Myths vs. Facts....”  An award-winning landscape architect, Darcy has seen the impact of government regulations, policies, and fees.  For years, she has been politically active with local candidates, elections, and speaking to local groups.

Happy Hour Politics brings together all women and men to socialize and be informed about current issues.  Melanie Burkholder, a principal organizer, says: “It is exciting to have a highly respected expert come enlighten us about a complex program like Common Core.   Happy Hour Politics is a great venue to talk about policies that affect us and to get questions answered.”

Regarding the Common Core focus of the evening, Mary Frances Stanley, another organizer of Happy Hour Politics, went on to say, “This is your opportunity to learn what our children are being taught in our schools.”
