MS Society hosts cyclist training ride on Saturday morning, Aug. 17

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society in San Diego is inviting cyclists to join a 15- or 30-mile training ride starting on Saturday morning, Aug. 17. The rides will begin at Rehab United Physical Therapy & Sports Performance Center, 3323 Carmel Mountain Road, San Diego, 92121. The 30-mile ride will begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by the 15-mile ride starting at 8 a.m. The training rides are designed to help cyclists prepare for participating in either a 100- or 150-mile ride at the National MS Society’s 31st annual Bike MS Bay to Bay Tour, a cycling fundraiser to be held on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19 and 20. Following the training ride on Saturday, Aug. 17, a safety, nutrition and bike gear maintenance clinic will be held starting at 10:30 a.m. For more information about the training ride, call (760) 448-8413, or visit this Facebook page, www.facebook.com/events/246080125517363/. The Bike MS event has been voted “Best Cycling Event” for the past six years by the readers of Competitor Magazine. Rehab United, specializing in sports medicine, physical therapy rehabilitation and fitness training, is assisting the National MS Society by providing training services to National MS Society event participants. It is Rehab United’s seventh consecutive year to assist the National MS Society, according to Bryan Hill, Rehab United co-owner, president and CEO.
