"Copter 2" Responds With Carlsbad Fire to Downed Cyclist

was called to the area of Rancho Santa Fe and Camino Junipero Monday to assist a downed mountain biker. 

Carlsbad Fire determined that it would take too long to make access and extricate the victim given the extent of his injuries and location. San Diego Fire's "Copter 2" was called in.

Emergency radio traffic reported "Copter 2" was able to lower a medic and hoist the patient to the helicopter. The cyclist was taken to Scripps La Jolla.
