5 Deals for Dads to Grads and Beyond

Some amazing deals in San Diego this week include savings at the fair, discounts on tools, free fishing, museum savings and coupons.

June and July scream fun in the sun. Barbecues, days at the beach and outdoor fun might not give our pocketbooks a meltdown, but all of the dads, grads and summer birthday celebrations just might!  Well, cool off and take advantage of some local and national freebies and deals that will save you some cash for all the celebrations that make summer so magical.

1.  San Diego Fair Deals
The San Diego County Fair is coming to town Friday! Enjoy the Father's Day Pancake Breakfast June 19 for only $13, which includes fair admission. Buy tickets through Ticketmaster. Also, admission to the fair on June 14 is only $3 with special tickets which will be sold only at Albertsons/Sav-on stores ($5 minimum purchase required with Albertsons Preferred Card). Keep in mind that $3 Tuesday is also Kids' Day, when all children 12 and younger are admitted free. 

 2. Harbor Freight Tools Sale
Have a DIY dad? Harbor Freight Tools is having a dad's and grad's special: Save 20 percent on one item when you use code SHOP20. Offer valid through June 20.

3.  The Department of Fish and Game Free Fishing Days  
Put up your "Gone Fishing" sign and leave your wallets behind. The Department of Fish and Game offers two free fishing days each year. On July 2 and Sept. 3 you can fish without a sport fishing license. Free fishing days provide a great, low-cost way to experience the sport of fishing! What says Father's Day better than fishing with Dad?
 4. Half-Off Admission to Museums in North County San Diego Through June 30
The following North County San Diego museums are participating in the inaugural North County Arts & Culture in June and are offering half-off tickets for the month:

  • California Center for the Arts, Escondido Museum
  • California Surf Museum
  • Lux Art Institute
  • (closed for but offering half-off specific events)
  • Oceanside Museum of Art
  • San Diego Botanic Garden (formerly Quail Botanical Gardens)
  • San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum (formerly Escondido Children’s Museum)
