Carlsbad Reads Together This April
The featured book is T. Jefferson Parker's "Iron River," praised as "gripping literary entertainment with a point."
Carlsbad City Library’s eighth “Carlsbad Reads Together,” a communitywide reading program, will feature Iron River by New York Times best-selling author T. Jefferson Parker. Carlsbad Reads Together is designed to bring community members together and engage them in discussion about the same book at the same time. The library will be hosting free events throughout April to coincide with National Library Week (April 8-14).
Iron River has been praised as “gripping literary entertainment with a point” by the Los Angeles Times and the Associated Press cheered “exceptional … succeeds brilliantly.” San Diego County's Parker has written 19 books and has been called “a powerhouse writer” by The New York Times.
Carlsbad Reads Together events include An Afternoon with Parker on April 14, book discussions, Carlsbad High School’s Speech and Debate team debating the issues in the book, mystery movies and more. Visit the library’s Carlsbad Reads Together web page for more information or call 760-602-2012. Carlsbad Reads Together is sponsored in part by the Friends of the Carlsbad Library.
