Moderate to high levels of pollutants were found in several local species of sport fish, including various bass, perch, rockfish and shark, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported. Contaminant levels were highest in San Diego Bay, an industrial and military hub. The studies cost $4.5 million and were paid for by the State Water Resources Control Board and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as part of a six-year effort.
  • The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County decreased today for the 12th consecutive day. The price dropped to $3.73, which is the lowest price since February.
