Community Play Date

City of Carlsbad Parks & Recreation presents a “Community Play Date,” from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 5 at Stagecoach Community Center, 3420 Camino de los Coches. The free event invites attendees to sample mini-classes and activities for adults, kids and families being offered this summer by the city.  Activities include Lego build stations, family obstacle course, dodgeball games, tennis challenge, and hands-on stations for sampling self-defense, dance, fitness, and creative arts classes.

“The idea of the Community Play Date is to encourage our neighbors to come out and see what’s going on at their local community center,” says Gian Lauro, Recreation Area Manager at Stagecoach Community Center.  “With Facebook, video games and flat-screen TVs, people seem to be making it less of a priority to get out and try new activities.  Parks & Recreation offers great alternatives for getting healthy, connecting with the community, and spending quality family time – things we all need to relieve stress and make our lives better.”
