Bingo, Cat, Gem, Home Improvement Shows and More at the Del Mar Fairgrounds

You survived 2012, now what? Patch found activities for you to do in January and in the new year.

Is one of your new year resolutions to get out and explore more? The Del Mar Fairgrounds might be a good place to start.

Play a game of Bingo on Mondays or catch a cat show at the end of the month, there is something fun for everyone.

BINGO DEL MAR

  • What's up: Grab your friends and play a game of bingo. Play electronically or on paper. Players must be 18 or older.  
  • When: Every Sunday at 3 p.m. and every Monday at 7 p.m.
  • Where: Sports Club, 2nd floor, Surfside Race Place.
  • Price: Prices start at $20 and is cash only.

SURFSIDE RACE PLACE

  • What's Up: Surfside Race Place is an exclusive race book and will feature horse racing from all over the world.
  • When: Check the website for specific race times. 
  • Where: Surfside Race Place.
  • Price: $5 general admission.

PETCO 5K9 WALK AND RUN

  • What's Up: Tails will be waggin' all the way to the finish line. Walkers, runners, and dogs are all welcome to participate in a 5K or one mile course.
  • When: Sunday, Jan. 13 from 6 a.m. to Noon.
  • Where: Wyland Center Building.
  • Price: $35 for one mile course or $45 for 5K race.

GEM FAIRE

  • What's Up: If you make your own jewelry or collect gemstones, the Gem Faire will have a large collection of beads and jewelry. 
  • When: Jan. 18 to 20.
  • Where: Bing Crosby Hall.
  • Price: $7 general admission weekend pass, Kids 11 and under are free.

DEL MAR ANTIQUE SHOW AND SALE

  • What's Up: Shop for a gift or get a personal item appraised at the antique show and sale. 
  • When: Jan. 18 to 20.
  • Where: O'Brien Pavilion.
  • Price: General admission $8, Kids are free. Admission is valid for all three days.

HOME IMPROVEMENT SHOW

  • What's Up: Home Improvement Show will feature local vendors with home improvement products, services and more. 
  • When: Jan. 25 to 27.
  • Where: Activity Center and O’Brien Hall.
  • Price:  Free.

SAN DIEGO CAT FANCIERS CAT SHOW

  • What's Up: Cats of all sizes, shapes, and colors will be at the annual cat show. 
  • When: Jan. 26 to 27.
  • Where: Exhibit Hall Buliding.
  • Price: $9.00 for adults, and $7.00 for children, seniors and military.
