Pizza for a Cause

You get a delicious pizza, kids in Carlsbad get memories to last a lifetime

On Monday, June 13 City of Carlsbad Parks & Recreation is hosting "Pizza for a Cause" at to raise money for the city's Opportunity Grants program, benefitting children from low-income families in Carlsbad.  Twenty percent of all food and beverage sales between 5  and 10 p.m. that night will be donated to the city's Opportunity Grants program.  The offer applies to both carry-out and dine-in.   Special thanks to the generous folks at That Pizza Place, who have always been committed to our community.

Times are still tough.  Many families are cutting back on activities -- things like swim lessons, camps and classes that keep kids healthy in mind, body and spirit.  Being active and social does wonders for a child's well-being; many families participating in the Opportunity Grants program report increased self-esteem, improved grades and better social skills as a result of their kids taking part in sports or picking up a hobby like dance or martial arts.  Opportunity Grants of $150 per child can be used toward any city Parks & Recreation class or camp, and there's lots to choose from to fit any age and interest.

So please make Monday, June 13 at pizza night!  Encourage all your friends and family to come out to That Pizza Place to help keep kids happy and healthy in Carlsbad.
