Visit Novel Destinations with Carlsbad’s Film Series

June films at the library showcase beautiful locations.

Summer has unofficially started and Carlsbad City Library will be kicking off its annual Summer Reading Program on June 20. SRP, as it is affectionately known, features activities, reading incentives and entertainment for all ages. The 2011 theme for adults is “Novel Destinations” and the library’s June film series showcases four movies taking place in exotic locations.

The free series begins on June 15 with Leap Year, starring Amy Adams. In this romantic comedy, Anna (Adams) travels to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on February 29, because Irish tradition states a man receiving a proposal on Leap Day must accept.

Next up is Enchanted April on June 22. Four British women vacation together at a secluded Italian castle to escape unfulfilling marriages. Based on a novel by Elizabeth von Arnim, this film is about rediscovering hope and love.
