Community Corner

We Read, We Ate, We Shared

More than 500 people participated in Carlsbad Reads Together events at the library.

In April 2011, more than 500 people participated in, a community reading event featuring My Life in France by Julia Child with Alex Prud’homme. Community members enjoyed a French cooking demo, book discussions, "foodie" films, an afternoon of French music and more.

At the events, stories were shared about favorite meals, and how families came together to cook, laugh, eat and enjoy.

A highlight of Carlsbad Reads Together was a Culinary Journey to France cooking demo by Chef Julie Frans of Dining Details. Following the demo, more than 100 attendees enjoyed sampling Coq au Vin, seafood bouillabaisse, pistouille and stuffed zucchini.

If you were unable to attend, we hope you will mark your calendars to participate in Carlsbad Reads Together 2012, set for next April. The featured book will be selected this fall.
