What the bUZZ is All About

Have you heard the latest buzz? Women in Carlsbad and across the county are coming together for eating, drinking and socializing with a fun, weekly “girl’s night out.”

The women’s group is all about giving women of all ages and backgrounds “the opportunity to get together with other women in a fun, friendly environment,” according to Audra Leigh, CEO of bUZZ Ladies.

The group has regular bUZZ nights that include dining out at local restaurants and then reviewing them. Some nights even involve gift giveaways. This week, bUZZ ladies will meet up at one of Carlsbad's newest dining establishments, . Its novelty may seem like an obvious choice for such an event, but Leigh said there’s more thought involved in choosing a restaurant.

“Supporting local businesses, especially those that are female-owned or women-run, is extremely important to us,” she said. “We believe that dining out should be an adventure and the only thing we love more than finding a 'hidden gem' is sharing it with other women.”  

bUZZ Ladies is free to join. Just go to their website and click on the “Become a bUZZ Lady – It’s free!” sign in the middle of the homepage.  From there, you can create an online profile, reserve a spot for yourself at the various events, check out the buzz on new products and restaurants and even see who else is a part of the bUZZ community!

Leigh said that everyone is welcome to come to the socializing event—college students, working professionals and “stuck-at-home moms.”

“It’s like having your neighbor, your best friend from college, your aunt and your aerobics instructor over for dinner,” Leigh said. “It’s really a great vibe—everyone brings something different to The bUZZ Ladies.”

Want to be a part of the bUZZ? Attend the tomorrow, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. The ladies will take advantage of Ignite’s happy hour and new friends will be made.
