The public is invited to an open house at the Carlsbad Senior Center on Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., to officially launch its new Saturday hours. Ping pong for table tennis enthusiasts, educational presentations, enrichment classes and more for adults 50+ will be offered every Saturday, starting Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Attend the open house to learn first-hand about the Senior Center’s diverse programs and activities now available on Saturdays, including the fitness room, billiards room, lounge, computer lab and meeting and event rooms available for rent.
“We realize that many individuals in the 50+ population are not able to participate in our programs offered during the week because of work or other commitments, “said Kevin Granse, recreation area manager, Carlsbad Senior Center.
“The 50+ population in Carlsbad continues to grow, and we want to be able to provide our programs and services to as many of our residents as possible,” said Granse.
The Carlsbad Senior Center is located at 799 Pine Ave. and is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information about classes, events, computer room availability and fitness room memberships, call 760-602-4650 and visit http://www.carlsbadca.gov/services/departments/parksandrec/seniors/Pages/default.aspx.
