As part of its Global Spotlight Concert Series, the presents world-renowned pipa virtuoso with special guest Kartik Seshadri performing on sitar. Man is recognized as a premier talent on the pipa, a lute-like instrument dating back more than 2,000 years. The Grammy-nominated artist has carved out a career creating and fostering projects that give this ancient instrument a new role in today’s music world. Seshadri is a renowned force in the field of Indian Classical Music and attracted widespread attention when he began performing full-length solos at the age of six in India. As a composer and educator, Seshadri heads one of the largest programs of Indian Classical Music at the University of California, San Diego.
