Jerome Lowenthal Concert and Fundraiser

The Museum is honored to welcome back renowned classical pianist Jerome Lowenthal for a fundraiser to benefit its MusicVentures school fieldtrip program.  The MusicVentures Fieldtrip takes students on a musical exploration of the people, historical events and innovations that influenced music making and musical instruments from the late 19th century to present day. Led by a trained facilitator, students embark on creative thinking adventures through the instruments on display, sound and video clips, and interactive activities.

Lowenthal is an American classical pianist and professor of piano at the Juilliard School in New York, and is on the faculty at Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, Calif.  He made his musical debut at age 13 with the Philadelphia Orchestra.  Since then, he has performed with world-class conductors and has unearthed some rare romantic piano works.  Lowenthal’s recordings include piano concertos by Liszt with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the complete Tchaikovsky concerto cycle with the London Symphony Orchestra.  He has an extensive repertoire, including 59 performed piano concerti.
