Plants and Flowers of Imogen Cunningham Lecture

Join Dave Ehrlinger, Director of Horticulture at the San Diego Botanic Garden, on April 23 at 2:00 p.m. for a fascinating talk about the plants depicted in the Botanicals: The Photography of Imogen Cunningham exhibition, with a special discussion of plants suited for the San Diego landscape. Complimentary with museum admission and complimentary for OMA and San Diego Botanic Garden members. Light refreshments will be provided.

With a special interest in native plants, Mediterranean climate plants, landscape design, and natural history, Ehrlinger will share many interesting horticultural tips with visitors. Ehrlinger received his Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University with a major in ornamental horticulture. He has been with the San Diego Botanic Garden for over eight years and has been gardening for over forty years. From 1974-2002 he directed horticulture operations at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. His wife Claire is a horticulture instructor at Mira Costa College.

This lecture is in conjunction with Botanicals: The Photograph of Imogen Cunningham that features over 40 black and white botanical photographs Cunningham took from the 1920s to the 1930s. The exhibition is on view through May 22, 2011.
