This is Jazz

Jazz lovers can visit the Dove Library's Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium for a special jazz concert.

Dirk Sutro will host and the Gilbert Castellanos Quartet will provide an in-depth presentation on the music that grew out of post-WWII California's reaction to East Coast Bop.

With images and recordings straight from the day, plus live samplings by San Diego's premier trumpeter and his group, this lecture/interview/music session promises to inform and entertain any jazz lover.

Admission is free, but seating is limited. Entry tickets will be distributed at the library starting at 3 p.m. and the doors open at 3:45 p.m.
