Tapping into over forty years of their acclaimed department’s visual arts program, the graduate students at the University of California, San Diego have a strong vantage point. Working with celebrated international artists as their professors and advisors, these students are in constant theoretical and practical dialogues with their colleagues. Vantage Point continues this conversation at Oceanside Museum of Art, where four MFA artists from UCSD were invited to collaborate with a professor on a new work of art or select an existing work that establishes a strong visual and conceptual dialogue.  Presenting the work of graduate students Ela Boyd, Chris Kardambikus, Brian Zimmerman and Alida Cervantes, and professors Ernest Silva, Louis Hock, Ruben Ortiz-Torres and Anya Gallaccio, the exhibition will feature a diversity of media from light installations and videos to paintings, drawings and sculptures. Join the artists during an Artist’s Forum on Saturday, November 19 at 2:00 p.m. and learn more about their methodologies, techniques and the UCSD program. The talk is complimentary with museum admission and free for OMA members, students and military.
