‘Go’ with Write Out Loud

Literature comes to life when read by these talented actors.

On Tuesday, June 21 at 7 p.m., join Carlsbad City Library and Write Out Loud for an entertaining evening of short stories read aloud by some of San Diego’s finest actors.

“Life is about moving, changing, going,” says Write Out Loud co-founder and actress Veronica Murphy. “Almost everything we do every day involves one of those verbs so Write Out Loud decided to design a program that featured those actions, so fundamental to life, and present them in a variety of forms.”

The stories Write Out Loud will read highlight a variety of tales about going. “Mr. Loveday's Little Outing,” by Evelyn Waugh, is about going out  while “Second Night Out,” by Frank Belknap Long, is actually about going in the very obvious way – on a trip. Alistair Cooke writes about a 20th century style of going and Sherry Simpson writes about going in search of something.

“We are excited to have David Meyers and Francis Gercke join us again to close the season,” says Murphy. “David stunned our audience last October with his humorous and memorable reading of Poe's 'The Raven.'  Francis and his wife Jessica delighted us in February as Dorothy Parker's 'Here We Are' honeymooners.”
