Lady Gaga's Flying Dress Piloted by Carlsbad Resident

Gus Calderon piloted the Volantis, the world's first flying dress, at the Lady Gaga ArtPop album release in Brooklyn, NY. His company IsisCopter in Carlsbad develops multirotor craft.

The Volantis, Lady Gaga’s flying dress, was piloted by Carlsbad resident Gus Calderon.

Calderon is an FAA-certified commercial pilot with 20 years’ experience. He has been building and flying of remote control aircraft for 35 years. He owns IsisCopter, a custom manufacturer of professional multirotors.

Calderon was part of the Volantis design team and was involved in the development and flight testing which took place in San Diego county.

The Volantis was unveiled on Nov. 10 at the Lady Gaga ArtPop album release in Brooklyn, New York.

Calderon is seen in the background, piloting the Volantis at the media press event.
