Travel to India and Morocco with Carlsbad City Library Sept. 21

Award-winning cinematographer, writer, editor and director Rick Ray will be presenting two films.

On Sept. 21, travel to India and Morocco with Carlsbad City Library, when award-winning cinematographer, writer, editor and director Rick Ray visits. Ray, who has traveled the world to capture images of its people and culture, will be presenting his film "The Soul of India" at 2 p.m. and "Morocco" at 5 p.m.

In "The Soul of India," Ray visits familiar sites such as the Taj Mahal, the palaces and forts of Rajasthan, the Himalayas and the River Ganges as well as areas of India few visitors see. In "Morocco," Ray explores the country's enduring history and its timeless treasures from ancient palaces to high-tech mosques to the exotic markets of Fez and Marrakech.

Ray has produced films on regions as diverse as Israel, Bali, Borneo, Lebanon, Syria and Iceland with titles that include Raise the Bamboo Curtain with Martin Sheen and the acclaimed documentary 10 Questions For The Dalai Lama. He has presented his films at hundreds of venues across the country, including the National Geographic Film Series, California Institute of Technology and the Carnegie Museum.

The film screening takes place in the library's Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium, located at 1775 Dove Lane. Seating is limited and first come, first served.
