Carlsbad Solar Company Helps the American Lung Association – San Diego Take Steps Toward Cleaner Air

Carlsbad solar company, Everyday Energy, recently installed a fully donated 10.5 KW DC Solar System at the American Lung Association - San Diego office.

On Wednesday May 8, 2013, the American Lung Association in California – San Diego unveiled its newly installed, 10.5 KW DC Solar PV system thanks to the generous donations of Trina Solar (U.S.) Inc., Everyday Energy, a Carlsbad-based solar installer, Sonepar USA, in combination with ESSCO Wholesale Electric, and Zep Solar, Inc.

San Diego Mayor, Bob Filner was on hand to unveil the system and honor the American Lung Association for all they do to provide cleaner air. In addition, Mayor Filner highlighted his renewable energy goals for San Diego and his ongoing support for the American Lung Association in California.

“Clean renewable technologies will, in time, reduce the serious health threat of air pollution,” said Jane Warner, President and CEO of the American Lung Association in California. “We thank our solar partners for making this generous donation to help our organization take part in building a sustainable future.”

The new solar system is estimated to produce 16,191 kWh of electricity annually and will provide 25% of the building’s energy needs. It will reduce the building’s toxic chemical emissions, and carbon emissions over the next 25 years by 256 tons -- the equivalent to planting 10,220 trees.

“This project allowed a group of businesses to give back by sharing their expertise and products and provide a solar system free of charge to the American Lung Association in California. This project is an excellent example of a community working together to walk the walk with respect to renewable energy and clean air.” said Scott Sarem, CEO, Everyday Energy.

Additional remarks were provided by Bo Smith, Vice President, Communications, American Lung Association in California, San Diego Gas & Electric, Regional Vice President, External Relations, Frank Urtasun, Jim Day, Director of Sales, Trina Solar (U.S) Inc., and Scott Sarem, CEO, Everyday Energy. Garret Boykin of Sonepar USA, and Scott Wilson of Zep Solar, Inc. were also in attendance.

"Trina Solar is committed to developing high-quality panels that provide clean energy," said Mark Mendenhall, President of Trina Solar Americas. "We continue to give back to the community by supporting the American Lung Association in California and its work to ensure that we all have clean air to breathe."
