Case of the $54 pizza ... really

Even a piece of pizza can be outrageously expensive at the old ballpark...

Went to Petco Park over the weekend for a couple of Padres' games vs. the San Francisco Giants.

One (Saturday's game) was enjoyable; the other (Sunday's game) was a yawner. But that is baseball. You buy a ticket and you take your chances. You could witness anything from a no-hitter to Sunday's contest.

What you aren't taking a chance on is the concession prices ... really...

You can find anything from the traditional bow-wow (hot dog) to fish tacos and lots in between. So, the three of us elected to go for the in-between - a Filippis pizza. Sounded good to me as we sat in the boiling sun near the right-field foul pole ... really...

So, as we watched the grounds-crew do their thing with final preps on the infield prior to Saturday's 5:30 p.m. start, here came the wife back without a pizza ... really ...

"Where is it?" I asked as she handed me the garlic fries she had purchased... really...

"I got to the head of the line, asked for a pizza and I was told it would be $54," she explained. "I am not paying $54 for a pizza." ... really ...

Well, it does come out to that magic $6.75 per slice for an 8-slice pizza so I guess per slice the $54 is accurate ... really...

So, l sat there and munched away on my garlic fries as the first pitch was tossed ... really...

And guess what, I am never going to pay $54 for a pizza ... really...

'...MPH degree program to attend a 3-day workshop ... challenge the CNA licensure examination inRead More California.... ... Aristotle felt that by becoming licensed professionals in the U.S. shortly after their arrival to the shores of the U.S., they would have a greater opportunity to receive better clinical positions when they applied for the work-study internships that they were eligible to participate in....' the school told students that were enrolled in masters' degrees that certification as a cna was part of the road to obtaining a masters degree ?? stop right there... masters in public health is an administrative position that has nothing to do with being a cna....and i'm sure people didn't travel thousands of miles to do the grunt work in a hospital.... yea, getting a cna license is a great suggestion for an 18 year old that's going into the nursing field....but not for someone in the masters' program.... and fyi phony college.....in this country a person has to have a 4 year degree before they can apply for the masters' program....
