Bank of America Ditches Plan for $5 Debit Card Fee

Bank of America's Chief Operating Officer stated they decided to not go with the planned fees after customers flooded them with complaints.

When Bank of America proposed a they were met with consumer backlash.

In a press release the company stated, "We have listened to our customers very closely over the last few weeks and recognize their concern with our proposed debit usage fee," said David Darnell, co-chief operating officer of Bank of America. "Our customers' voices are most important to us. As a result, we are not currently charging the fee and will not be moving forward with any additional plans to do so."
