Cafecito Celebrates One-Year Anniversary

Carlsbad City Library’s coffee kiosk marks one year of service with live music and delicious treats.

Times flies when you’re having fun! Cafecito, the coffee kiosk at Carlsbad City Library, celebrates its one-year anniversary on Saturday, Jan. 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. “It’s been an exciting year getting to know the library community,” commented Belinda Canez, Cafecito’s owner. “Library patrons appreciate organic and healthful choices in their beverages and snacks, and we look forward to expanding our menu, including some new Republic of Teas.”

As part of the celebration, musical duo Yael and Vlady will perform. Regular performers at Carlsbad’s Mediterranean Café, Yael described their music as “a Gypsy experience with a style that arouses rock n roll, blues, European setbacks, pop music and every so often even gets in line with original art.” Their skill playing guitar combined with their love of melody makes for an upbeat performance.

In addition to the live music, enjoy sampling Cafecito’s menu items. Cafecito serves coffee, tea, smoothies, baked goods, gourmet chocolates and more. Attendees are also invited to stay for the library’s free film screening of Rick Ray’s The Soul of India at 2 p.m.

Why not say WHICH Carlsbad library you are talking about. I live downtown near the ORIGINAL Carlsbad Cole library and walk there. Knowing that this is there would be nice as I suspect that it is at the satalite Dove library in La Costa which is to far to walk to. This is necessary information for me to have so at least NAME it. Hi Mr. Johnson, Thanks for your comment. It's at Carlsbad City Library on Dove Lane (1775 Dove Lane), not Carlsbad's Georgina Cole Library. We don't yet have a coffee kiosk at Cole Library. Thanks, Jessica
