Callaway Golf Gives Foster Kids Free Clubs & Instruction

County foster youth will get equipment and three hours of training in Carlsbad on Saturday Aug. 20.

 has been reporting each quarter, but the Carlsbad company isn't letting that stop them from giving back.

Callaway is providing 30 San Diego County foster youth with an opportunity to take up golf.  The golf equipment manufacturer will host a three-hour training camp Saturday morning at the Ely Callaway Performance Center at 5860 Dryden Place. The Carlsbad facility is regularly visited by many of the world’s top golfers, including Phil Mickelson and Annika Sorenstam.

The foster youth, ranging in age between 5- and 12-years-old, will receive a wide-ranging program of basic golf instruction, including golfing etiquette and rules of the game. Each participant will also receive a set of clubs from Callaway.
