Carlsbad Mobile Game Developer Acquired by SGN

Mob Science, and its 11 employees, who have developed popular games like "Legends: Rise of a Hero," were recently purchased by Social Gaming Network.

Mob Science, a Carlsbad based mobile gaming development company was recently acquired by Social Gaming Network, a firm founded by a former Myspace pioneer Chris DeWolfe. 

Mob Science – and its 11 employees – was purchased last week by SGN, according to the Los Angeles Business Journal. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. 

The local gaming company features many popular mobile games, including "Legends: Rise of a Hero." Its portfolio of 10 games were previously published by Zynga. 

According to the paper, Mob Science's offices will remain in Carlsbad. 

“Joining the SGN team is an amazing new opportunity for everyone here at Mob Science,” Michael Witz, Founder and CEO of Mob Science, said in a statement. “We look forward to bringing our games to new platforms with their cross-deployment technology as well as working together to create exciting new games throughout 2013 and beyond.”
