Golf Legend Annika Sorenstam to Continue to Represent Callaway Golf through 2016

The Carlsbad-based equipment company will continue to use Sorenstam in advertising campaigns and at customer appreciation events.

Annika Sorenstam, an LPGA Hall of Fame member and 10-time major tournament winner, has been a Callaway representative for almost two decades and will continue to play Callaway equipment, wear its headwear and sport the company logo on her left sleeve, according to a Callaway Golf Co. statement.

"Annika is a tremendous ambassador for the Callaway Golf brand, both on and off the course,'' said Callaway Vice President of Global Sports Marketing Nick Raffaele said. "She's not only one of the greatest champions in our sport's history, but also an example for all professional athletes as she's devoted the next phase of her career to making a difference and giving back.''

The Swedish-born Sorenstam stepped away from competitive golf in 2008 to raise her young children. She also focused her attention on building ANNIKA- branded businesses, including a golf school in Central Florida, a golf apparel line for women, a golf course design business and a foundation that promotes fitness and nutrition to children.
