iPhone 4S Phones Still Available at the Carlsbad Apple Store

People lined up for the latest iPhone released Friday morning.

The iPhone4s hit Apple stores Friday at 8 a.m. At the there was a long line but the product is still in stock as I'm writing this at 5:30 p.m. Friday. There's also a shorter line at this hour, about a 20 to 30 minute wait for the iPhone, explained a Carlsbad Apple Store specialist who added, "we have plenty in stock."

By late Friday afternoon, the UTC Apple store had sold out of all iPhone 4S phones for Sprint and the 16GB black model for the AT&T network.

The iPhone 4S has a dual-core A5 processor, 8 MP camera and a voice activated assistant called Siri.

This is the first year I didn't wait in line, so my iPhone 4S came by FedEx yesterday. I'm surprised they still had phones available so late in the day. That store is where I bought my iPad 2, waited about 2 hours, the last of the units went to 3 people behind me in line! (by those little reserved product cards they hand out.) I wouldn't have been too happy to get all the way up to the door after 2 hours and not get one, that's why I pre-ordered the phone last week. Anyway, it arrived and activation was rather painless. "Old" iPhone 4 now up for sale on eBay. :)

Eric you'll have to give us a consumer review on the new iPhone 4S after using it for a few days.

Since 2 of my favorite new features are the 8 Megapixel stills and the full 1080p video, I have already started taking a few pics and shooting some new video to compare with the previous iPhone 4. I can say the most noticeable improvement has been the full HD 1080p video with image stabilization. I thought the previous phone's 720p HD video was nice for a "cell phone camera" but this new video is impressive. Yesterday's attempts at using "Suri" the new voice assistant hasn't been so great, in fact, it hasn't responded properly to a single command. It looks as if this service has "overloaded" on Apple's servers. At least those are the rumors. Will post more as I play with it. :)
