Isis' Cholestrol Drug Gets FDA Approval

The Carlsbad company's shares were up last week and have gone up steadily since November, gaining about 74 percent.

Carlsbad-based Isis Pharmaceuticals Inc. first company drug, Kynamro, has been given U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval to reach market.

Kynamro is an injectable drug designed to treat patients who are genetically predisposed to have high levels of LDL cholesterol, known as the “bad” cholesterol, wrote the Associated Press.
