Joey's Smokin BBQ Closes, Notorious Burgers Opens

The owner of Joey's Smokin BBQ and Doc's Saloon decided last month to to close the La Costa restaurant to spend more time working as a clinical psychologist with a speciality in combat stress.

According to Facebook, Notorious Burgers had it's soft opening. The restaurant serves hand crafted burgers and beer in Joey's Smokin BBQ's former location at 6955 El Camino Real Ste 107, Carlsbad, California 92009.

The owner of Joey's Smoking BBQ left this note on the restaurant's Facebook page announcing the closure:

Jeanie & I have owned Joey's Smokin BBQ and Doc's Saloon for 2 1/2 years and prior to that a 50% owner for 10 months.

Over this period of time, I have been juggling being a Clinical Psychologist with a specialty in Combat Stress over the past 20 years. I have been on numerous TV and Radio programs and also involved in many newspaper articles discussing PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injuries etc. our veterans experience. I even see Veterans at the restaurant quite often who come in for advice.

My final decision to close the restaurant came about 3 weeks ago when I visited The Military Academy at West Point to lecture at a faculty meeting and sit in on Cadets classes. I realized I need to get back to this full time. It is time to now move on to my people helping passion of 45 years and spend all my time working with Veterans and help develop an Integrative Treatment Program with Detoxification from Psychiatric Medications for our active and retired veterans.

Thanks again for all your support and fun we all had together, Bart ("Doc")

Doc wrote on Facebook that he has teamed up with a friend and will offer catering services of Mexican, Italian and BBQ food.

Aristotle felt that by becoming licensed professionals in the U.S. shortly after their arrival to the shores of the U.S., they would have a greater opportunity to receive better clinical positions when they applied for the work-study internships that they were eligible to participate in....' the school told students that were enrolled in masters' degrees that certification as a cna was part of the road to obtaining a masters degree ?? stop right there... masters in public health is an administrative position that has nothing to do with being a cna....and i'm sure people didn't travel thousands of miles to do the grunt work in a hospital.... yea, getting a cna license is a great suggestion for an 18 year old that's going into the nursing field....but not for someone in the masters' program.... and fyi phony college.....in this country a person has to have a 4 year degree before they can apply for the masters' program....
