The World's Largest Lego Tree, Brooke Burke and Holly Jolly Holidays

Carlsbad Patch takes you inside Legoland for Holly Jolly Holidays and the tree lighting ceremony that kicked it off.

Holly Jolly Holidays at kicked off with what could only be described as a magical moment as snow, music and fireworks filled the air while the "World's Largest Lego Tree" was lit.

Dancing with the Stars host Brooke Burke pulled the switch to light the tree. "I think it's unbelievable. I just learned it took about 250,000 Legos to build the tree. ... I think I know what my son is getting for Christmas," she jokingly told Carlsbad Patch.

The mother of four brought her two youngest with her to the tree lighting ceremony and to spend the day at the park. "It's the first time I've been to Legoland. I have four kids so I'm a little ashamed of that, but they invited me to come down and partake in the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. It was really an honor," added Burke.

During the ceremony Legoland presented a generous check to Operation Smile on behalf of Burke's involvement with the charity. Legoland Spokeswoman Julie Estrada explains, "Operation Smile is great. It's an international children's charity that focuses on children with cleft palate and other facial deformities. It just costs about $240 to do a reconstructive surgery. Legoland donated $10,000 so about 40 children will have a brighter holiday season."

Brightening kid's holidays doesn't end there. Everyone who comes to the park during Holly Jolly Holidays could do Burke's coveted job of lighting the tree.

"Each night between Dec. 2-24, we're randomly choosing one of our guests to be able to pull the switch that lights up the tree."

In addition to nightly tree lightings, there's a musical called "Let it Snow" that runs daily and you can catch the Jingle Brass Band performing live throughout the park. Also mark the calendar for Dec. 6 to see the Sealife Aquarium do an underwater tree decorating demonstration.
