Why America's Computers Are Being Hacked

The reasons for the successful, rampant cyber attacks against personal, government and business computers and the solution - Cyber Security Engineers.

While personal, government, and business computers across the USA are hacked, experienced Cyber Security Engineers all over the country are unemployed.  The reasons for this anomaly are many, but it’s my belief that blatant age and wage discrimination which cannot be proven is part of it. It makes me wonder if this is caused by the corporate establishment so it can request Congress to approve of more H1Bs to do the work at substandard wages.

Another reason computers continue to be threatened is that large organizations which do utilize Cyber Security Engineers, handcuff engineers by not permitting them to put in place needed security changes.  Those changes, which are allowed, are done at a glacial pace and only provide short term protection.

There is another sinister motive behind the failure to use experienced Cyber Security Engineers – young interns and computer science majors are not security engineers.  They tell prospective employers they know all about security in order to get hired.  Of course the bosses don’t know these people are unaware of security issues that threaten their systems.

And then there’s the Human Resources problem for Cyber Security Engineers.  Human Resource employees have no idea about the difference between a Computer Science Engineer, Computer Science college major, Computer Engineer, or a Cyber Security Engineer.   It’s like knowing the difference between an architect designing a home and the security guard defending it.  The HR people don’t seem to comprehend the distinction.

Another incentive for not hiring Cyber Security Engineers is that those in charge of corporate and government computer systems are caught in a web of political controversy or are unaware of the cyber security threats that are located deep within the lines of a computer code.  These people tend to go along with the concept that there are security programs put out there by big computer companies which regularly install updated security to their systems.  While this helps, it’s usually too late.  By the time a new security application is installed, the hackers have already found a new way into the system.

Finally, I say it’s about time America stops hating American engineers now that “the barbarians have entered the gates” and are sabotaging our computer rooms quicker than most managers can see.
