Upholstery Cleaning: Which fabrics to buy and not to buy. Pt 1

I have been cleaning carpet and upholstery in Carlsbad and all San Diego since 1988.  In that time I've cleaned hundreds of pieces of furniture and have learned a thing or two about the subject.  Here I will attempt to impart some of the lessons about upholstery cleaning I've learned over the years.
First thing to remember is, most upholstery will ugly out long before it wears out.  This means that most people will want to replace a sofa because of how looks before it wears out or falls apart.
This makes cleanability, (how a fabric responds to cleaning) a vital factor in determining how long your upholstery will stay in your home.  Of course the longer you have it the less money you spend on furniture over the course of your life.  Who doesn't want to save money?  After all "if it ain't broke don't fix it" are words many of us should live by, especially in these economic times.
Next time I'll talk about how to choose fabrics that will clean and wear better making them last longer and save you money over the years.  Please feel free to call me anytime with questions about carpet & upholstery cleaning or see my website for more information.  760 753 7373
