Art From the Heart: We’re Dragon You Into the 10 Hour Art Gallery July 26th

Village Faire's "pop-up", 10Hr Art Gallery, displays 15 very unique and creative artists for 7 days only, and hosts an Art Reception on July 26th with a special exhibition for Art Awareness.

Beginning July 22nd to July 28th at the Carlsbad, Village Faire’s “pop-up," 10Hr Art Gallery, will display 15 very unique and creative artists  for seven days only.

Last month proved to be a huge awakening for many in Carlsbad as the gallery hosted a 5 day exhibit.  This month we will host an exhibition, along with an art reception for TERI, Campus of Life, The Stardust Arts and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Carlsbad, to raise art awareness and its value in the community.

Hard to top last month’s exhibit? We have decided to accomplish just that. At an art reception on July 26th, between 5:30 p.m.  and 9:00 p.m. , coinciding with Thursdays on the Coast Artwalk, we bring the “best of best” into town at a fun filled reception.  Several incredible wood life-size carvings by artist Thomas Thomas,. (yes that is his real name)  will be staged amongst 14 creative artists works. “Hope”, a life size, Easter Lion,, Grog”, a 10 foot Dragon  and “Mr. Chuck Wood”, show amazing creativity, simplicity and wonderful craftsmanship.

The 15, non-traditional  artists,  believe in creating a positive atmosphere, charged with energy, goodwill and the spirit of giving back to the community, by sharing of themselves and supporting several local worthy organizations.

Patricia Malldi, Director of Marketing and Special Events at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Carlsbad is proud to present a very special art piece, created by 43 students, by the previous year Stardust Artists.  The piece “Mapping Carlsbad” presently hangs on the office walls of the, Executive Director, Brad, Holland, and will be on display in support of art awareness in the community.

This month is will be spectacular as we support the return of the TERI , Campus of Life artist’s works.  Phillip Sammuli, Development Manager of TERI  who thanked the gallery for June’s wonderful evening of art and fellowship.  “The folks that came through really had a genuine interest in the art community and where it is going.  I felt privileged to talk with all the other artists about the personal journeys involved in your creative gifts.  I look forward to more occasions like this”

Last month’s exhibition, thanks to SIMA, the Village Faire Management, the gallery stunned the public, with an incredible display providing much needed support for several organizations that contribute unselfishly to the public.

Director of Adult Services, Teresa Martin remarked, “I was impressed with the turn out and the quality of the art, and the warm welcome we received from you.  I always enjoy seeing our artwork in the community, and really appreciate your support for our art program.  This has been a break thru year for us with in terms of community art exhibits and we hope to keep the momentum going”.

An ecstatic, Stardust Arts student, Grace Kriakov, age 10, , had a first time lifetime experience, a buyer for her art piece, “Music.“To see the thrill in her accomplishment, knowing she was part of something very special was a heartfelt joy for Art Director, Cheryl Ehlers of the Stardust Arts .  “Building confidence in youth is the key to successful futures, there is nothing better in life then to be appreciated”.

Local resident, Charlotte Sanders,  who regularly attends the Carlsbad Thursdays on the Coast Art walk stated, “this little gallery has the most interesting pieces and has such a great energy,  what  fun to meet all the artists and have them share their stories.” “I never knew you could pack so much information into just one piece of art”.  Sander expressed.

The gallery appreciates the collaborating support of Senior Grubbys restaurant and HomeLife Village Realtors, both of Carlsbad for providing support for the upcoming art reception on July 26th, and looks forward to the visitors in the community,  to share in our support.
