Carlsbad Artists Cheryl Ehlers is not your typical artists that exhibits in outside venues.  Invited by venues,  Ehlers is happy to participate in several events in the month of November involving the City of San Marcos, the La Costa Resort & Spa, and the Front Porch Gallery.

As an avid arts advocate, days are normally filled with activity promoting art for others, so a personal display is unique at best. Displaying with the Sargent Art Group, Coastal Artists and numerous other artists in these venues, Ehlers will be sharing new art with the public and displaying her contemporary and impressionist style.  Loaded with color you will find her work to be very interesting and definitely different.

On November 4th Ehlers will be at the San Marcos  ALIVE Artwalk  located Old California Restaurant Row, in San Marcos, 10-4pm,  A venue loaded with art, music and entertainment, free to the public.

On November 17th, Ehlers will be displaying at Bella Arte 6 at the La Costa Resort & Spa located in La Costa, CA,  with eight Sargent Art Group artists and bringing a new collection of art to view. Free to the public.

From November 18 - January 2, 2013, Ehlers will be displaying with the Coastal Artists Group at the Front Porch Gallery located in Carlsbad, CA in a group private show.  Reception is on November 18th 12-2pm.

20% of the proceeds from purchases of Ehlers art will be contributed to the Stardust Arts, "youth art Angels Program" that provides art scholarships for underserved students in the local community.

Ehlers is Founder of The Stardust Arts, a non-profit, and since 2009 Stardust has reached out to over 6200 young students in grades 1-5 in over 24 schools and has produced over 13,200 pieces of artwork have covered the walls of homes, schools, charities and local business. The students have flourished and learned the just how enriching the power of art can be. Ehlers advises students, “To not be afraid to explore yourself or be concerned what others think.” She stresses the importance of creating confidence first and talent second, in order that students feel empowered to succeed.

Supported by parents, schools, local Carlsbad business, and in part by the City of Encinitas and the Mizel Family Foundation.  Stardust is recognized by the California State Assembly, and the San Diego County Board of Supervisors and is a well received and seasoned after school program.

The Angels Program is running  a Holiday program that helps support the scholarships.  Students have created handmade holiday cards for sale and they have been professional printed and ready to land on your doorstep.  Please visit the Holiday Art,  visit http://animoto.com/play/nzhPAopuXnZu2ZxUwKEZOQ.  It is great video!  You can order online and visit http://www.thestardustarts.com (Art & Holiday section).

“I am proud to be arts advocate on many levels and pleased to align myself with individuals that have a common purpose in life and are on the same pages of music in art”, stated Ehlers. What a great year it ihas been and going to be following.
