Bilbray Sensibility vs. Saldana, Peters Lunacy in the 52nd Congressional District Election

Democrats think they have a shot in taking in the re-defined 52nd District. With Saldana and Peters? Think again!

The 52nd Congressional District, recently re-aligned as a result of the 2010 census, has new borders which now supposedly leaves the district with only a 3% Republican majority of likely voters.  Republican Brian Bilbray is the incumbent, and based upon the two main challengers for his seat, should easily finish as the top vote-getter in the June 5th primary and win re-election in November.
While the two Democratic Party hacks in question, former San Diego City
Councilman and current Port Commissioner Scott Peters, and former state Assembly member Lori Saldana hurl juvenile insults at one another over their pathetic career records, Bilbray quietly goes about his Congressional business.  He’s one of the few politicians of either major party that throughout his Congressional career has remained consistent in his core beliefs and values.  On the issues that most affect Americans as a whole and his constituents in
particular, Bilbray is a light of common sense in comparison to the dark abyss
of insanity that is Saldana and worse yet, Peters.  I tried my case for not considering Peters as a serious candidate in my Carlsbad Patch blog on February 15th of this year (“Scott Peters for Congress? Seriously????”).  No need to flog this dead horse again, so now I’ll focus my opinion as to why Saldana is an equally inept candidate to represent us in Congress.

One need look no further for reasons than to view the groups and people who have endorsed her candidacy.  It’s the same old list of Democratic Party “Who’s
Who” of public employee unions, tax-payer funded group causes, and left-wing Sacramento in-breeds.  Among her admirers:

State Senator Mark Leno

Yes, that Mark Leno; the Bay Area kook who not only opposed “Jessica’s Law” (passed in 2006 by 70% of California’s voters), but who also
proposed counter legislation that thankfully was defeated which would not have included the residency requirement to keep sex offenders 2000 feet away from schools and playgrounds. Leno also sought to include a mandate that the state prison system provide prevention treatment for sex offenders, something it does not do now. Another difference between Leno's bill and Jessica’s Law dealt with child pornography. Jessica’s Law mandates a felony charge against anyone caught with one piece of child pornography; Leno's bill would have increased the number to 25!!! What kind of message is Saldana sending to our community by accepting Leno’s endorsement?

Saldana’s website is also high on liberal drivel but bereft of plans to impact positive change. On the contrary, Bilbray’s stances on critical issues such as illegal
immigration, health care reform, government spending/deficit reduction, and the
economy/job creation also include specifics as to how he will fight to counter
these challenges.  The choice for this Congressional seat is a no-brainer; as both Peters and Saldana will join Francine Busby as another liberal knock-out victim of Brian Bilbray.
