Carlsbad High School Television Releases Two Documentaries in HD

CHSTV's critically-acclaimed documentaries are now available as digital downloads in High Definition.

Carlsbad High School's broadcast journalism program has released two of its award-winning documentaries as digital downloads in High Definition.

It's first film, We Must Remember, has earned international acclaim for its innovative approach to introducing the Holocaust to teens.  The film is now used in classrooms around the world.  Recently CHSTV donated copies of the film to the Dachau Concentration Memorial Site's museum outside of Munich, Germany where the DVD is being made available to German high schools.

We Must Remember has been praised by the producers of Shindler's List and Paper Clips for its message that lessons of the Holocaust are still very relevant today.  The documentary premiered in Hollywood in a theater filled with notable actors and producers.  Millie Perkins (the actress who portrayed Anne Frank in the 1958 classic) and actor Ed Asner praised the film at the premiere in Hollywood's famed Academy Theater.  Shindler's List producer Branko Lustig was in the audience that evening and he arranged for the CHSTV students to travel to Zagreb, Croatia to share the film with Croatian and Serbian students.

CHSTV's second film, One in Seven, investigates the food insecurity issue plaguing families, including military families, in San Diego County.  This film sparked creation of a nationwide initiative called "Donate Don't Dump" which encourages local businesses to donate nonperishable food to food banks.

Both films are on sale as digital downloads for a donation of $10.00.  Money raised will help fund future student filmmaking projects.
