Carlsbad Beach Fest and Antique Engine Show Dash Into Weekend

You made it to the weekend, now what? Patch found North County's top five weekend events happening June 14-16.

DADDY-DAUGHTER DANCE

  • What's Up: City of Oceanside will host the first ever Daddy-Daughter Dance. Girls ages 4 to 10 and their dads will enjoy an evening of dancing. Registration is required.
  • When: 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 14.
  • Where: El Corazon Senior Center, 3302 Senior Center Dr., Oceanside.
  • Price: $5-$10.

CARLSBAD BEACH FEST

  • What's Up: The annual community festival will feature sporting events including a 5K Beach Run/Walk, triathlon, 1-mile ocean swim, surf contest and more. Free events will be available throughout the event.
  • When: 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 15.
  • Where: Tamarack State Beach, 3879 Carlsbad Blvd., Carlsbad
  • Price: $15-$100.

PUPPET SHOW AND SUMMER READING PROGRAM KICK OFF

  • What's Up: Civic Center Library will host "The Ant and the Grasshopper" Puppet Show and launch the summer reading program.
  • When: 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 15.
  • Where: Civic Center Library, 330 N Coast Hwy., Oceanside
  • Price: Free.

ANTIQUE ENGINE AND TRACTOR SHOW

  • What's Up: Experience history at a two day event at the museum. The event will feature a parade, blacksmithing demonstration, tractor games, arts and crafts and more.
  • When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16.
  • Where: Antique Gas and Engine Museum, 2040 N Santa Fe Ave., Vista.
  • Price: $7-$10.

PRODIGY PLAYERS PRESENTS 'FRACTURED FOLKTALE CABARET'

  • What's Up: Prodigy Players Children's Troupe will perform songs and tales for kids and families. Songs include Aladdin and His Magic Jar of Pickles and The Prince Frog.
  • When: 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 16.
  • Where: Encinitas Library, 540 Cornish Dr., Encinitas.
  • Price: Free.
