Carlsbad Triathlon Volunteers Wanted

Volunteer opportunities on are July 13 and 14.

The City of Carlsbad is seeking volunteers to help with the upcoming Carlsbad Triathlon and Wellness Expo. Volunteer opportunities for the Wellness Expo, taking place Saturday, July 13, include checking in athletes and handing out goodie bags.

Body marking, assisting with timing at the finish line and passing out refreshments at the hospitality booth are among race day volunteer opportunities on Sunday, July 14.

“Even if you may not want to swim, bike or run in the Carlsbad Triathlon, you can still play a key role in the exciting race weekend as a volunteer,” said Sue Irey, volunteer coordinator for the City of Carlsbad.

Rachael Shay, supervisor for Parks & Recreation special events for the city, said, “The Triathlon is not only an opportunity for athletes to stay active and healthy and challenge themselves, it is also one of the many ways the city works to connect residents with community resources, businesses and one another.”

The Carlsbad Triathlon is in the world’s top five longest running triathlons and attracts first time to elite competitors. More than 2,000 spectators and 1,000 participants are expected, which helps to support the local economy and raise the city’s profile as a great place to enjoy a healthy, outdoor lifestyle. For an extensive list of volunteer opportunities, click here.
