'Impeach Obama' Movement Inspired By Recent Carlsbad Protest

"Overpasses for Obama's Impeachment" is an activist group started by James Neighbors, which plans for protests in all 50 states this summer.

Inspired by the recent protest that called for President Barack Obama's impeachment in Carlsbad, a national  group called "Overpasses for Obama's Impeachment" has announced similar protests will take place across the country in the summer months.

James Neighbors, founder of the group, announced Monday that he and his followers hope to have at least one protest in each of the 50 states, and that the movement was sparked by the Carlsbad protest, which took place on an Interstate 5 overpass, and slowed traffic on the freeway for hours.

"After reading several news stories on that protest, the inspiration struck me that if such protests were to occur nationally, that surely Congress would listen and act," Neighbors told The Examiner.  “After thinking for several hours on how to create something like that, Overpasses for Obama's Impeachment was born.”

Neighbors has created a Facebook page for the group, which he hopes will help spur on fellow activists, and mobilize protests.

“As we speak, organizations across America are planning protests. California, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, Florida and Louisiana," he said. "For now, local groups are planning their own protests, throughout July, beginning July 4th.”

Neighbors told The Examiner that his group is not affiliated with the Tea Party, but that several Tea Party members support his cause and the group. He added that their main issue is that of the Constitution, and what he sees as the President's continued violation of the Constitution.

“[Obama's] administration is the most scandal ridden that I have ever known of," Neighbors said. "His policies fly in the face of the U.S. Constitution. For anyone to say he has no knowledge or part in the growing list of scandals is simply astonishing. Nixon said the same thing, and history shows how deep his involvement actually was.”
