Legoland Hotel 'Hires' Kid Concierges

More than 700 children across the nation competed to become the first Junior Concierges for the new LEGOLAND Hotel and win a free weekend stay and passes to the Carlsbad theme park.

Two San Diego County boys and four other children from across the West were chosen to be junior concierges at Legoland California in a special promotion, the park announced.

Among the winners were Ryan Malatesta (8) from Coronado, CA; Connor Hatch (8) from Anthem, AZ; Ella Dvorchak (8) from Hermosa Beach, CA; Alyssa Balbier (9) from Henderson, NV; Dylan Tran (11) from San Diego, CA, and Katherine McDonnell (11) from San Francisco, CA, Legoland said.

In exchange for a free weekend stay for their family at the Legoland Hotel and resort passes, the winners will share their knowledge of the theme park with other young guests. They were picked out of more than 700 children who completed an application and a short essay. Park officials said the winners were chosen for their ability to communicate and show passion for Legoland.
