The National Weather Service says the rain will continue and be heavy at times, but the sun is expected to return Sunday.

Sporadic showers soaked San Diego County Saturday, with rain expected to continue through the evening. The National Weather Service says widespread rain will continue until at least 5 p.m., with occasional heavy downpours expected. An urban and small-stream advisory has been issued and ponding is possible in low-lying and poorly drained areas.

The whole weekend won’t be a wash, as skies are expected to clear Sunday, lasting through next week.
